A little bit of island magic
Glassy west-coast bays, lively south-coast beaches and the historic streets of Bridgetown — Barbados pairs barefoot luxury with a relaxed, friendly island feel. With nonstop flights from London and Manchester, it is one of the easiest Caribbean escapes from the UK, and we plan the whole trip with one team you can message.
Where to go

Holetown and Speightstown's calm, clear bays, elegant hotels and sunset dining.

Lively beaches, St Lawrence Gap's restaurants and the Friday-night fish fry at Oistins.

A UNESCO World Heritage capital of colourful streets, careenage boats and colonial history.
Wild Atlantic scenery, dramatic rock formations and a world-famous surf spot.
Limestone caves, gardens and plantation houses in the green heart of the island.
Culture and customs
Bajans are friendly and courteous, and a polite greeting goes a long way.
No camouflage clothing. It is illegal for anyone, including children, to wear camouflage clothing in Barbados. Leave camouflage-print items at home.
Drugs carry severe penalties. Possession of illegal drugs is illegal and penalties are severe. Pack your own luggage and never carry items through customs for anyone else.
LGBT+ travellers. Attitudes are mostly conservative. Public displays of affection between couples of any orientation are uncommon and may attract unwanted attention.
Agree the taxi fare first. Taxis have no meters and most journeys have standard fares — agree the fare in Barbados dollars before you set off, and carry some cash, as drivers don't always take cards.

Travelling to Barbados — quick answers
Can’t see your question? Send us a message or WhatsApp us.
Do I need a visa for Barbados with a British passport?
No. You do not need a visa to visit Barbados, and you will be told how long you can stay when you arrive. Your passport must be valid for the planned length of your stay. All travellers must fill in an immigration and customs form online before they arrive, at travelform.gov.bb.
How long is the flight from the UK to Barbados?
Nonstop flights take about 9 hours. British Airways flies from Heathrow and Gatwick, Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow, and Virgin Atlantic also flies from Manchester in the winter season (late October to March).
When is the best time to visit Barbados?
December to April is the dry season and the most popular time to go. Hurricane season normally runs from June to November, so keep an eye on forecasts if you travel then and make sure your travel insurance covers you.
Is Barbados safe for tourists?
Most visits are trouble-free, but the FCDO reports gang-related shootings and other violent crime, so avoid isolated areas and beaches after dark and use licensed taxis. Sea currents can be strong, including on some popular south and west coast beaches, and swimming is not recommended on many east coast beaches — follow local warnings. Read the latest GOV.UK travel advice before you go.
Can Travel Style book my whole Barbados trip?
Yes. We're IATA accredited, so we issue flights ourselves and can add hotels, villas, transfers and excursions in one booking — with one team to message before, during and after your trip.
