Close to home, a world away
Paris is barely two hours from London by Eurostar, the Riviera is a short flight, and in between are Provence’s lavender fields, the châteaux of the Loire, Bordeaux’s vineyards and the Alps. We arrange flights or trains, hotels and car hire as one trip.
Where to go

The Louvre, Montmartre and long lunches — perfect for a two- or three-night break.

Nice, Cannes, Antibes and a day in Monaco along the Côte d’Azur.

Lavender in July, hilltop villages and markets around Avignon and Aix.
Skiing in Chamonix, Val d’Isère and Courchevel, and summer lakes and hiking.
World-famous vineyards and fairy-tale châteaux.
Culture and customs
Politeness matters in France — a few words of French go a very long way.
Always say bonjour. Greet shopkeepers and staff with “bonjour” (or “bonsoir” in the evening) before asking anything.
Carry ID. You must be able to prove your identity when asked — keep your passport or photocard driving licence with you.
Face coverings. Covering your face in public places is illegal, and the ban applies to visitors too.
Clean-air sticker. Cars in central Paris, Lyon and Grenoble must display an air pollution sticker (Crit’Air) on weekdays from 8am to 8pm — order it from the official certificat-air.gouv.fr site.
Driving. A UK photocard licence is valid, but you may need a UK sticker on your car. Winter tyres or chains are required in some mountain areas from 1 November to 31 March.
Beaches. Choose beaches with lifeguards and follow the flag warnings — strong currents are common on parts of the Atlantic coast.

Travelling to France — quick answers
Can’t see your question? Send us a message or WhatsApp us.
Do I need a visa for France with a British passport?
No — for holidays you can stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen area. Your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before you arrive and be valid for at least 3 months after you leave. You may need to register for the EU Entry/Exit System (EES); if you travel by Eurostar or from Dover or Folkestone, this happens at the border before you leave the UK. If you hold another passport, we can help with a Schengen visa.
Is it better to fly or take the Eurostar to Paris?
For central London, Eurostar from St Pancras is usually quickest door to door at about 2¼ hours. From the rest of the UK, a direct flight is often easier — we can price both.
When is the best time to visit France?
May to September for most of the country; July for Provence’s lavender; December to April for skiing in the Alps.
Can you arrange a ski holiday?
Yes — flights to Geneva, Lyon or Chambéry, transfers and chalet or hotel stays in the main French resorts.
Can you add car hire?
Yes. Car hire is the best way to see Provence, the Loire or Bordeaux, and we can add it to your booking.
