A rose-red city and so much more
Walk the Siq to Petra's Treasury, sleep in a desert camp in Wadi Rum and float in the Dead Sea at the lowest point on earth. Jordan packs extraordinary history and landscapes into a compact, welcoming country, and we plan it all: flights, hotels, desert camps, drivers and guides, with one team you can message.
Where to go

The Treasury, the Monastery and miles of rock-cut tombs — allow at least two days.

Red sand, towering cliffs and Bedouin camps under brilliant starry skies.

Float in the saltiest water on earth, then relax at a resort spa.
The Citadel and Roman theatre in the capital, and remarkable Roman ruins at Jerash.
A scenic road trip past crusader castles and the Dana Biosphere Reserve.
Culture and customs
Jordanians are famously hospitable, and respect for local traditions is always appreciated.
Respect local customs. Jordan is predominantly Muslim. Dress modestly away from resorts and pools, especially at religious sites, and be respectful during Ramadan.
Carry ID. Police run random security checks. Keep your passport or driving licence with you to show at checkpoints.
Alcohol. Drinking in the street is illegal, but you can drink in bars, hotels, clubs and private homes.
Keep affection private. Public displays of affection may cause offence, and same-sex couples could face arrest under other laws.
Drugs. Possessing, using or trafficking drugs is illegal and can bring a long prison sentence and a heavy fine.

Travelling to Jordan — quick answers
Can’t see your question? Send us a message or WhatsApp us.
Do I need a visa for Jordan with a British passport?
Yes. You can buy a single-entry visit visa on arrival at Jordanian airports for 40 Jordanian dinars, valid for 3 months. If you're staying at least 3 nights, the Jordan Pass (70 to 80 dinars, bought online before you arrive) includes the visa fee and entry to major sites such as Petra — buy it only from the official website. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival.
Is it safe to travel to Jordan?
The UK Foreign Office advises against all travel to within 3km of the Syrian border, which is far from the main tourist sights. GOV.UK also warns of regional tensions, including attacks in and around Aqaba in September 2026, and of possible airspace closures at short notice. Check the latest GOV.UK travel advice before you book and again before you go, as travelling against it can invalidate your insurance.
How long is the flight from the UK to Jordan?
Nonstop flights from London Heathrow to Amman take about 5 hours with Royal Jordanian, which also flies from Manchester a few times a week. Aqaba is usually reached via Amman or another regional hub.
When is the best time to visit Jordan?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are best for Petra and Wadi Rum. Summer is very hot, while the Dead Sea and Aqaba are pleasantly warm in winter, when Amman and Petra can be cold.
Can Travel Style book my whole Jordan trip?
Yes. We're IATA accredited, so we issue flights ourselves and can add hotels, desert camps, drivers, guides and transfers in one booking — with one team to message before, during and after your trip.
